Hello all, I’m looking to buy a used 2019 or 2020 KTM Sxf 450 and I can find bikes varying from 70 to 100 hours. 2019/2020 KTM 450 first top end maintenance according to real experience - Moto-Related - Motocross Forums / Message Boards - Vital MX

Watch on. KTM EXC 500. KTM 990 ADV. CRF 300L. 2 X Husky 701's which is basically the same as a 690. The CRF300L just did this effortlessly what makes it even greater is that the new CRF300L has gears 1-5 geared for off-road and the 6th gear is geared for pavement pounding. #3. 403667 , Jan 31, 2022.
It's normal rpm range is 2000 to 3500 most of the time. It has BIG bearing surfaces to allow the development of a BIG oil cushion. The low rpm makes for much less force on the components since force=mass x acceleration and the size of the components are big and hunky. Downside is the motor probably weighs 700 lbs!

The KTM's will be less expensive because they are older. Make sure to buy one from an old guy if you can. Try to find one that hasn't been raced/ abused with low time/ miles. Checking and adjusting the valves on your quad is a part of regular maintenance, but tearing into the engine on your KTM and Husqvarna 450, 500 & 501 can see The manual says every 15hrs, or 100l of fuel. That works out to about every 12 tanks of gas on the EXC. I prefer going by mileage, so I set my Panoram computer for a service reminder every 500 miles (I assume approx. 25mpg just to be even more conservative). When the reminder shows up, I do oil, valves, etc. all in one shot. Crash y2Ze.
